Over the years, crypto currencies, with Bitcoin at the forefront, have become part of popular culture. There are constant references to virtual currencies in TV series, books, songs, and social networks. Therefore, it shouldn’t be a surprise that well-known brands try to gain relevance through cryptoactives. This is why Looney Tunes attacks Bitcoin through the brand’s official Twitter account.

The Looney Tunes Tweet
We all know the Looney Tunes, the funny cartoon characters owned by Warner Bros who, along with the Disney cartoons, were pioneers in the field of animation. With Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird and other members of this group being universally known and appreciated.

However, the truth is that unlike Disney that knew how to reinvent characters like Mickey Mouse for the 21st century. The golden age of the Looney Tunes and their drawings is in the past. With them losing relevance in front of more modern caricatures. This is why Warner Bros. is trying to reinvent the brand by using its Twitter account.

Thus, for several months now the official Twitter account of the Looney Tunes has been run by an „ACME intern“, a fictitious cartoon company. Trying to follow the marketing strategy of other brands that have used their tweets to interact with their followers in a much more informal way, through jokes, word games and memes.

And now, as part of this strategy, the Looney Tunes account would have made fun of the Bitcoins. Referring to the big rally in 2017, and suggesting that the only time it was relevant to own Bitcoin was then.

„Elmer asked me if I had Bitcoins as if it was 2017 or something.

The Bitcoin Curse
However, the Looney Tunes account wouldn’t be the first of a brand to mention Bitcoin. Well, in July 2019, the account for the Chuck E. Cheese children’s restaurant brand responded to a tweet from Ryan Hoover in which he said in response to a news story that „Chuck E. Cheese tokens are great and all, but I still prefer to win Bitcoins. To which the brand responded „to each his own fake money“.

Shortly thereafter, Chuck E. Cheese filed for bankruptcy in the United States. This has led several users to warn the Looney Tunes account that by attacking the crypto currency, it could be cursed by Bitcoin Future and soon go bankrupt as well.

If anything, these tweets demonstrate the growing importance of Bitcoin around the world. It’s getting to the point where major brands like Looney Tunes and Chuck E. Cheese are trying to use BTC as a means to regain importance in the modern world. That’s why we’ve made this our Tip of the Day here at CryptoTrend.
