Reviewed by Stephen on 13/07/03Absolutely fantastic. It totally captures the
idea of the Feral nature that is part and parcel of the Space Wolves,
and yet also shows the Wolves' ability to dice in the ways of political
intrigue with as much ease as the noble houses of a Hive World.
The combats are excellently written, and every part of the book kept me
hanging on for the next chapter. I cannot wait for the next one.

Reviewed by Ilan on 01/07/03"Grey Hunter" is a story of leadership; where Space Wolf and Ragnar's Claw are tales of initiation and adventure respectively, the third volume reveals that Ragnar is indeed our beloved Wolf Lord Blackmane, and we watch as he learns what will be required of him not just as a warrior, but as a leader, forced to take risks and make sacrifices along the way. Bill King seems much more at home with writing a full-length Space Marine story; Ragnar is led through a refreshing balance between furious combat and thoughtful contemplation. The series gets better and better with each entry!

Reviewed by Wolf Lord on 30/03/03Awesome book...it was a good read and had lots of action and suspense. The thing that made me mad was how it ended so swiftly, not knowing what the great wolf will do to ragnar. I hope more of the series come out! |
Reviewed by Zufar Shahren on 26/11/02Grey Hunter is full of in-depth action, great
descriptions, dialogue, plot, I definitely loved the various writing
techniques that digs bone-deep into your nerves. Grey Hunter is grim,
gory, pumped up with a blood boiling action that seems to captivate
movie-like sequences. Hakon is great, Sven seems horrendously
unstoppable, he is the best, so is Ragnar, valiant black-maned wolf
warrior of the Space Wolves chapter. Grey Hunter's left me with an
unresolved anticipation for Wolfblade (4th Ragnar Blackmane title).

Reviewed by Peter Elliott on 03/09/02I would just like to say that i
think this book is the best of the three books so far. What can i say,
the combination of sven's filthy tongue and action makes for a very
exciting book. I must say that if Bill King Kills off Sven then i will
be severely peeved. anyways, i look forward to the next exciting chapter

Reviewed by Paul Hansberry on 11/07/02I thought the entire novel was
great. Couldn't put it down. When is the next Space Wolves novel coming
out. I can wait for it. Hurry I'm on pins and needles. Can't wait to see
how Ragnar reclaims the spear for the Chapter. Sven will be mad he
couldn't go.

Reviewed by Karandras on 13/06/02As the others have said, this is
the best book of the series. The plot is much tighter and the story
flows well. Blended with the faster pace, we also see more detail on how
the Chapter goes to war, including the internal politics between the
great companies.

Reviewed by Stormcaller on 24/05/02This is easily the best Warhammer
40K book King has ever written, and is, IMHO, only bettered by Dan
Abnett's Eisenhorn books in Black Library's 40K line.
