27th
November 2002 - Christian
Dunn, the editor of Inferno! has just informed me of some very exciting news. It
seems that Gotrek & Felix are to have their very own Inferno! Special early
next year and it contains a novella entitled Redhand's Daughter, a comic
strip, a gazetteer, and a specially written and illustrated article about the
Siege of Praag. Bill also answers some questions sent in by the fans, there's a
coupon which entitles you to a special G&F foil card for Warcry and I'm sure you'll all agree that the Greg Staples cover (above) is a cracker!
Anyway, I
am hereby giving you advance warning - issue 36 goes on sale on April
28th, 2003 so make sure you don't miss out!
27th November 2002 - I
am sad to report that the old quiz is now officially deceased. Alas, it
is no more. Mourn its passing, people and move forward with your lives.
Fortunately, it's not all bad news - some of it has
come back to us, reincarnated as the all new and hopefully, improved Trollslayer
Quiz and it is just waiting for you to test your mettle. Are
you Slayer enough, I wonder....?
24th November 2002 - I've
now set up an onsite message
board for those who are not keen on joining the Trollslayer
Group across on Yahoo. It's still in it's early stages so we
may well have a few teething troubles with it so please bear with us if
that's the case.
Anyway, to help prevent spam, you will still have to
register an email address but that's as formal as it gets. Rules
are simple: no spamming, no flaming and to protect the innocent, I'd
appreciate it if you could watch your language. That's pretty much it.
Have fun and don't be afraid to post....
21st November 2002 - Okay,
the good news is the transfer to new hosting has now gone through! The
bad news is, the site quiz needs tweaked so I've taken it offline for
the moment! Hopefully, it will be back up shortly.
20th November 2002 - Okay
folks, the Black Library have now unveiled a preview of Geoff Taylor's Dragonslayer
cover art for the new edition and it's fantastic - check it out
now!
18th November 2002 - Sadly,
Bill is still struggling with internet access so we continue to run a
bit behind with the column. I'm going to refrain from giving the date
it'll be up onsite by because that's just tempting fate!
Normal service will be resumed just as soon as possible
though.
18th November 2002 - Due
to a major site overhaul, you may find that it will be down at some
point this week and I'm tendering my apologies in advance here.
Hopefully, the interruption will be minimal but as ever, nothing is
guaranteed.
13th November 2002 - The
new Farseer Character
Anthology and Gazetteer
of places are both now online and I'd just like to thank Warren Beattie
for all the effort he put into them. Be aware though, they contain major
spoilers so if you haven't read Farseer, you may want to avoid them for
the moment.
I do have to say that the man has done a top job though
- thanks again, Warren!
10th November 2002 -
I am in the middle of a major site revamp at the moment mainly because
the beast had taken on a life of its own and was just getting way out of
hand! In the process, I have introduced a new look for the Books,
Slayer Books
& 40K Books
sections and have slightly revised the Reviews
ones too.
Obviously, there's always going to be a risk involved
when doing something like this and there may be a few glitches. If you
come across a page that doesn't work properly, I'd appreciate it if you
would let me know at the usual
address - many thanks!
6th November 2002 -
Due to the fact that Bill has just faced the fairly major upheaval of
moving house and currently has only intermittent net access, we are
running a bit behind with his usual monthly column. Hopefully it should
be up by the end of next week but like most things in this life, there
are no guarantees. I shall keep you posted though.
5th November 2002 -
Remember, remember the 5th of November.... because today's the day that
all the Trollslayer
Anthologies were finally completed!
It's been a bit of a slog and I really must express my
wholehearted thanks to the people on the Trollslayer
Group for their help and to Robert Clark in particular for
the sterling effort he put in on no less than three of the individual
book anthologies. Take a well deserved bow that man!
Now, for the first time, you can find all the people
and places
from the Slayer books together in one big guide. And it is big, folks so
please allow a bit of time for the main pages to load up - I'd like to
think it's worth it.
Anyway, as always comments, corrections and omissions
should be sent to me at the usual
address
5th November 2002 -
Okay, first of all, I know it's been awhile since our last site
update so apologies for that - I shall try to keep on top of it a bit
better in future. There has also been a few issues with the server
which may have meant that parts of the site have been inaccessible or on
a go-slow and though these things are entirely outwith our control, once
again my apologies for any inconvenience caused.
There, now we've got that out of the way, time for the
real news!
