News - October 2002

18th October 2002 -  Well, given that I've just acquired a whole pile of Bill's books translated into other languages, I thought I'd put them all together in one big Overseas Editions section for the site.

I've started transcribing the back blurbs in their various languages so if you click over the covers in the Spanish, German, Finnish and Russian sections, you'll get info about that book in your native language. The Czech & Polish ones will follow shortly. Thanks must go to various folks who have helped me out with the task, particularly Luis Arlegui for the Spanish lesson - cheers Luis!

It is very difficult to copy text when you don't speak the languages involved so I apologise in advance for any typos or mistakes - they will be entirely down to me! Please let me know if you spot any and I'll get them corrected asap.

14th October 2002 -  Vampireslayer has just been released in the Czech Republic and is already a best seller in the fantasy section, according to my source.  Martin Fajkus has very kindly passed on this scan of the cover so many thanks must go to that particular gentleman!

Anyway, one good turn deserves another. The sharp-eyed among you may have already realised that Martin is also the author of an article about Bill, currently appearing in the Czech magazine Pevnost but for those of you who didn't, please see below for further details.

8th October 2002 -  Bill's new Authorised column is up now and guess what? I'm not going to tell you what's in it so you'll have to go and look for yourself!

Okay, okay - maybe I'll give you a couple of teensy hints. Games Day and Wolfblade.... I'm saying no more!

8th October 2002 -  The Czech magazine 'Pevnost' is out this Thursday and will carry an article about Bill written by Martin Fajkus. The translated title of Martin's article is 'William King – Lord of Trollslayers' and it sounds as though it's quite an in-depth piece so all you Czech fans out there may want to keep an eye out for it.

7th October 2002 -  Well, it's now official! Bill's next book will definitely be Wolfblade, the fourth installment of the Space Wolf saga and this is scheduled for release in Autumn 2003.

Further news on the Ragnar front is that the previous three books will all be re-issued at the same time as Wolfblade and all four will sport smart new matching covers. The cover artist is, as yet, unconfirmed but watch this space for further updates as they come in.

7th October 2002 -  As promised last month, I've been busy putting together the beginnings of a gallery that could rival anything you'll see at the Louvre - only kidding!

It's actually the fledgeling Trollslayer Photo Gallery and though it only contains a few pictures at the moment, you lot may be able to give me a hand here. If you have any photographs of Bill taken at any events, send them in and I'll stick them up, giving you full credit for them. Obviously, I'll need details about the pic - the date, the event and the place it was taken would be extremely useful and if you can help out, please email me at the usual address.

3rd October 2002 -  My other half is currently working on a special Gotrek & Felix diorama for the site and though I may be biased, I  thought his Gotrek Conversion was definitely worth a look even in its undercoated state.  As can be seen, it's still very much work in progress but I'm sure you get the idea - Skaven beware!

Anyway, I'd just like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Mike Ball across at the Black Library. He came through with some figures in our time of need and it literally couldn't have got even this far without him. So thanks, Mike - it's very much appreciated!

1st October 2002 -  Well, Gamesday has come and gone and Bill has asked me to say thanks to you all for making it such a great day! He had a fantastic time and will no doubt touch upon it in his next column. Look out for that shortly.
