News - September 2002

26th of September 2002 -  Well, UK Gamesday is less than 72 hours away and looks to be one of the best ones yet. Bill will be on hand at the Black Library stand from midday, signing books and generally chatting and is looking forward to seeing some of you there. Oh and if anyone gets any good photos of the camera-shy Bill, please send them to me and I'll stick them up onsite - it's about time we had a Gallery feature, I think!

24th of September 2002 -  Here's some news for all the Czech fans out there. On the 10th of next month the magazine 'Pevnost' will carry an article about Bill written by Martin Fajkus. The translated title  is 'William King – Lord of Trollslayers'  so  look out for it in the next couple of weeks.

21st of September 2002 -  There's a rumour afoot that Bill might be writing the fourth installment of  Space Wolf (now entitled Wolfblade) once he completes work on Giantslayer. At this point, I can neither confirm or deny it as nothing has been officially sanctioned yet.  I will, however, let you know as soon as I do hear anything official....

19th of September 2002 -  The competition for the Gamesday ticket is now closed and I am delighted to announce that the winner, drawn at random from all the entries,  was one Mr Frank Schafer - congratulations, Frank!

I'd also like to thank everyone else who entered and wish them better luck next time.

16th of September 2002 -  Well, as promised, the Trollslayer Forum Q&A is now up onsite though a bit of judicious editing (not to mention mistakes in my numbering - d'oh!) has meant that there's now 40 questions and answers instead of 42. Enjoy!

15th of September 2002 -  It appears that Games Day is even more exciting now because both Ian Watson (Draco, etc) and Adrian Smith (cover artist on Beastslayer) will be attending. If you haven't got a ticket yet, don't despair - here's your chance as the Trollslayer Competition is now offering you the opportunity to win one. Simply answer an easy-peasy question and then all correct entries will be entered into a prize draw to win the ticket (travel and all other expenses NOT included) and a book. Please make sure you've read and understood all the rules before entering though, and be aware that the closing date is the 18th of September so you only have a few more days to get your entry in.

6th of September 2002 -  It seems that you can now own a hardcover copy of Trollslayer for approximately $2. Unfortunately, there's one fairly major drawback - it happens to be the new Russian edition so you have to be able to speak the language! Thanks to Leonchik Prokhorov for the dustjacket scan.

6th of September 2002 -  Bill has just completed a Q&A session with the Trollslayer Group people and I am currently working on the format for getting it up onsite. 42 questions and answers and very interesting reading it made too, I can tell you. Watch this space for further details.

5th of September 2002 -  Okay, Bill's new monthly column, Authorised  is now up onsite. Floods, Journeys and Giantslayer are all mentioned. Oh and cannibal halflings - yes, I *did* say cannibal halflings! Bet that has you intrigued now...

5th of September 2002 -  Well, as many of you probably already know, UK Games Day is nearly upon us and takes place at the NEC, Birmingham on the 29th of September. I have been told it's now sold out but for those of you who don't have a ticket, don't despair yet. I happen to have one that  I can't use and rather than letting it go to waste, I decided to hold a little competition and put it up as a prize.

Be aware though, it's probably only of interest to our UK members as the prize is ONLY the ticket (and a book, as a little extra) - travel, accomodation and any other expenses incurred are definitely NOT included and will be the responsibility of the winner. Still interested? Then enter here - all you have to do is answer an easy-peasy question!

The winner will be drawn at random on the 18th of September and notified shortly thereafter so make sure you supply a proper email address! Good luck!.

5th September 2002 - Okay, so it's cheating! I know you probably all saw the covers last month but I still think they're pretty cool so have left them up.

For those who didn't see last months news, Geoff Taylor is doing covers for all the old slayer books and the whole series will be re-released in their stunning new livery at the same time as Giantslayer. Watch out for them all in Spring 2003.
