News - July 2002

9th July 2002 - Right people, I know that it's been common knowledge for some time now but I can now officially confirm that the 7th Gotrek & Felix will be called Giantslayer, and will see the duo head off to Albion. It  is also rumoured to feature a certain rather famous Elven Mage. For those of you interested in learning more, there's this bloke called Bill King who refers to it in his new monthly site column - Authorised.

Oh, I'm subtle - oh so subtle...

8th July 2002 - Bill has now confirmed he will be appearing at UK Games Day 2002, taking place in the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham on the 29th of September. For more info, click the link above to go direct to Games Workshop's own site.

6th July 2002 - Well known fantasy artist, Geoff Taylor, has now been confirmed as the cover artist on the new Gotrek & Felix book, scheduled for release in Spring 2003.

1st July 2002 - Okay, July is upon us and with it comes a spate of conventions - well two to be precise! Bill has just confirmed his attendance at the first of them, Eurocon, which is being hosted in Prague/Chotebor in the Czech Republic this week. He will only be there from Friday 5th - Sunday 7th at the Chotebor venue though, so if you want to pop along and have a book signed or simply just want to say hello, make sure you get the time and place right! As most of you probably know, Bill currently resides in the Czech Republic so this is as close to a home convention as he'll get. Other guests of note include George RR Martin, Robert Holdstock & Jim Burns and there is a rather impressive programme of events lined up..

After that he has a few weeks grace to get down to some serious work on Giantslayer before he jets off to the States to put in an appearance at the Chicago Games Day on the 27th. This event will take place in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Centre, Rosemont from 10am to 7pm so why not pop along and say hello or take a book along to get signed? As Farseer was just released in the States last week, you may have one or two questions you'd like to ask him about it. Ticket information including some very nice package deals can be found on the link above
