On Warhammer 40K

The following are some of the questions that Bill has been asked either via email or on the Trollslayer Forum concerning his Warhammer 40K books and the Space Wolf stories in particular. Simply click the question and it will take you to the relevent answer....

1. Do you plan on writing about any other chapters?
2. Is Ragnar, Ragnar Blackmane?

3. What made you choose to select ragnar blackmane as the subject for one of your excellent sagas?

4. If you've based your Ragnar character as Ragnar Blackmane before he became a Wolf Lord then how are you resolving the issue that it was Ulrik the slayer who was Ragnars mentor and not Ranek?
5. I was wondering about the name of the rogue trader from 'Farseer'. If I am not wrong, Janus is the English name for Jano, the two faced roman god, so I wonder if Mr King was giving us kind of a clue about the plot?

On Warhammer 40K

1. Do you plan on writing about any other chapters?

I don't know if I will be doing any other Space Marine chapters. There are certainly no plans for it at the moment, and I do have Ragnar's tale to continue.

2. Is Ragnar, Ragnar Blackmane?

Yes, as far as I'm concerned anyway.

3. What made you choose to select ragnar blackmane as the subject for one of your excellent sagas?

I chose Ragnar because I liked the character and wrote his background originally.

4. If you've based your Ragnar character as Ragnar Blackmane before he became a Wolf Lord then how are you resolving the issue that it was Ulrik the slayer who was Ragnars mentor and not Ranek?

To tell the truth I dont know if I ever will resolve this one. I tend to look at these things the way I look at history books. Sometimes you get two (or more) contradictory accounts of the same thing.

5. I was wondering about the name of the rogue trader from 'Farseer'. If I am not wrong, Janus is the English name for Jano, the two faced roman god, so I wonder if mr King was giving us kind of a clue about the plot?

That is very close. I picked the name Janus for pretty much exactly the reasons given. I wanted something to suggest his dual nature, and the dual nature of what he was to become. Darke's second name was originally going to be Drake-to suggest the famous English 16th privateer, but I changed it to Darke because it sounded cooler.
