Posted in Writing at 11:38 am by Bill

Just finished fiddling about with the Dock of my iMac, stripping it down to basics I need to get things done- yes, you can tell I am starting a new book by the amount of displacement activity. It now contains the following:

The Network Effect

Posted in Writing at 5:23 pm by Bill

Today I saw first hand what people refer to as the Network effect. For the two of you unfamiliar with this concept- its the way a system becomes more valuable the more people who use it. The system I refer to here is Microsoft Office.

Yes, it has been a very, very long time since I posted anything. I have been very busy. As most of you know I got married to Radka in September and we have been settling down very happily to married life since.

A test….

Posted in General at 5:54 pm by Ange

The last post was by Angela, testing the system. This is me, Bill.

The Briar King

Posted in Review at 1:55 pm by Ange

Just finished The Briar King by Greg Keyes and have to say its the best first volume of a high fantasy I have read in a very long time. Dark interesting world, good characters, genuine wit. It has a few flaws but I found it immensely enjoyable. Its a fairly high body count world in the great tradition of GRR Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire. If you have any interest in the genre whatsoever you could do a lot worse than pick this up.

French Trollslayer

Posted in Writing at 12:03 pm by Ange

Been a while since I posted I know. I have been going through the rewrite of the Serpent Tower and attending to various business and personal matters. Just wanted to mention that the French version of Trollslayer arrived this morning and it looks good. Also in the box was the new Gotrek and Felix watch in a spiffy metal presentation case. Since I’ve been thinking about buying a new watch for a while now this will save me the trouble. Cheers to the lads at the Black Library.
