Gotrek Gurnisson - the Slayer. Destined to die a heroic death...but not quite yet.

Felix Jaeger - his ally and Rememberer. Forced to face his own personal demons in order to keep a blood sworn oath to record the Slayer's doom. 

 

Malakai Makaisson - Slayer and engineer of pure genius, Malakai puts in a brief but notable appearance before heading off on his own mission.

Maximilian Schrieber - an immensely powerful mage, though studying the Eye of Khemri nearly proves his undoing.

Snorri Nosebiter - a stupid and immensely hard Dwarf Slayer who enjoys the simpler things in life - drinking and killing!

Ulrika Magdova Straghov - Kislevite noblewoman, daughter of Ivan Straghov and former love interest of Felix Jaeger.

 

 

Adolphus Krieger – A vampire. He was one of Von Carstein’s most trusted minions but vanished after the battle of Hel Fenn and von Carstein's defeat - he has now resurfaced in Praag though. Tall, dark and thin, he speaks with a noticeably foreign accent. He will also stop at nothing to get his hands on the Eye of Khemri, a deceptively powerful artefact.

 

Baron Keinster of Warghafen - former owner of the Eye.

Brother Benedict - a former priest of Verena and Count Andriev's appraiser. He has vanished without trace.

Count Andriev - Ulrika's distant cousin, a collector of antiques and curiosities. He hires the slayer and his companions to protect his collection and in particular, the Eye of Khemri.

Countess Gabriella of Nachthafen - a beautiful woman of indeterminate age. Sister-in-law to Rudgar.  She also appears to have a mysterious connection to Krieger. 

Duke Enrik - ruler of Praag. Tall, dark saturnine man with long drooping moustaches and sunken cheeks. There is a rumour he is insane.

Gerti -owner of the rooming house where Heinrik Glasser lodges.

Goetz - a peasant from the village on the outskirts of Waldenhof who killed a ghoul with his pitchfork before being carried off by two of the ghoul's companions

Heinrik Glasser - one of Andriev's guards who has vanished

Ice Queen  - Katarin, Tsarina of Kislev, a mage of much power.

Ivan Straghov - March Boyar and Ulrika's father. 

Kurt - petulant fop and ringleader of a bunch of wealthy thugs who challenges Krieger in the Bard and Bow.

Kristof - baron of Leicheburg. Tall man in his prime with black hair and eyes. A guest at Waldenschlosse.

Marek - one of Ivan Straghov's trackers

Nell - Heinrik Glasser's girlfriend

Nella - streetgirl who found Red Maria's body in the Alleyway of Loose women

Pauli Glasser - Heinrik's brother who Gotrek & Felix find hiding out in Heinrik's room.

Petr - Count of Swartzhafen. Frail old man, skeletally lean with a full head of pure white hair. Visitor to Waldenschlosse.

Quentin - the youngest of Rodrik's knights and part of the Countess's retinue

Red Maria - former streetgirl who's found murdered

Rodrik - huge, golden maned knight and bodyguard to Countess Gabriella. Son of Rudgar.

Rudgar - Count of Waldenhof. A tall florid aristocrat and brother-in-law to the Countess Gabriella.

Sergeant of the Watch - grey-haired commander of the company of veteran halberdiers who come to investigate the murder of Red Maria. He is noticeably suspicious of Felix.

Wilhelm -  former villager but now a Ghoul - Goetz was thought to have killed him as the ghouls raided the village on the outskirts of Waldenhof. Also the one that pronounces that the Time of Blood is here.




Alana - half witch/half seeress and someone Krieger considered making his consort in the past.

Katherine - a Bretonnian noblewoman and one time companion to Krieger many years ago.

Countess Olga - another of Kriegers group of hangers-on

Gaius - a member of Krieger's coven

Marianne - a peasant turned courtesan in Nuln and companion of Krieger in the dim & distant past.

Osrik - fat wealthy merchant and one of Krieger's pawns

Roche - Krieger's hulking pockmarked henchman. His family has served Krieger for generations

 


Belardo - one of the greatest Tilean painters, he was commissioned to do portraits of some of the Arisen. After Hel Fenn, he was burned atop a pyre in a square in Talabheim for this connection to the vampires.

Count Regnak - a mortal who thought he could prolong his life by drinking blood. Destroyed by the White Wolf Templars

Detlef Sierck - a famous playwright

Elthazar - a renowned Altdorf mage and Max's former tutor at the College of Magicians. He cast spells of protection on Andriev's mansion two decades before and they still hold.

Johannes of Marienburg - inventor of the printing machine

Karel Lazlo - long dead philosopher and author of the Theory of Belief systems.

Mad Olaf - Praag's very own serial killer who 'chewed his way through' a few bar girls before being captured and placed in the mad house.

Mannfred von Carstein - the vampire who used the Eye of Khemri to raise an undead army to fight the War of the Vampire Counts

Neumann - a philosopher

Tarradasch - a poet and playwright

Van Hal - scholar who translated the Nine Books of Nagash

Vlad von Carstein - first and mightiest of the Vampire counts

Von Diehl - a poet and playwright

Zuchi and Petrillo's - Altdorf's main dealers in Antiquities and
Collectables and the place where Andriev purchased the Eye of Khemri




Black Ships - a fleet of huge black metal ships spotted by Malakai and Felix on their reconnaissance mission in the Spirit of Grungni. Their prows are carved in the shape of a daemon's head and red runes glow along their sides. Even Malakai isn't sure what powers them

Book of the Dead - forbidden volume that the Countess has read.

Book of Shadows - contains a prophesy foretelling of the Time of Blood.

Eye of Khemri - small oval shaped pendant carved from obsidian with a central eye surrounded by odd pictograms of animal headed people. The stone itself is gripped in a silver hand setting with pointed talons. Found in the rubble of Khemri and also known as the Eye of Nagash.

Forbidden Grimoires of Tal Akhad - dark books that the Countess refers to 

Gospodar Muster - a force of 5000 mounted warriors that helped defeat the forces of Arek Demonclaw. See Beastslayer.

Grimoire Necronium - contains references to the Time of Blood, when a pale King would arise to rule the night.

Lost Book of Nagash -contains a description of the Eye of Khemri
