Felix Jaeger - his poet companion, sworn to follow Gotrek through sewers, plagues and mighty battles, all for the privilege of noting the Slayer's epic demise.

 

Grey Seer Thanquol - Skaven magelord and master schemer whose cunning plans always seem to be thwarted - usually by himself!  Thanquol augments his powers by liberal use of powdered Warpstone snuff which he keeps in a manskin pouch

 

Annabella Jaeger - Otto's Bretonnian wife.

Armand Le Fevre - Decadent poet, son of a famous admiral and heir to the Le Fevre fortune. A patron of the Blind Pig.

Baron Blucher - guest at Countess Emmanuelle's feast

Baron Josef Mann - bald pate and lambchops, a patron of the Blind Pig.

Big Boris - burly Kislevite mercenary and patron of the Blind Pig

Countess Emmanuelle - Ruler of Nuln. A beautiful but flighty woman and the object of von Halstadt's obsession.

Count Ostwald - see Hieronymous Ostwald.

Dieter (i) - see also Rupert. Spoiled aristocrat Felix has to deal with in the course of his job as Bouncer at the Blind Pig.

Dieter (ii) - see also Johan. Ostwald's Men at arms

Drexler, Doktor - a physician and scholar. He studied medicine in Kah Sabar, Araby. Felix is referred to him by his brother when he starts displaying what could be possible symptoms of the Plague.

Elissa - Barmaid at the Blind Pig and Felix's love interest for awhile.

Franz - Otto Jaeger's bodyguard. See also Karl.

Franz Beckenhof - necromancer. Patron of the Blind Pig.

Frau Koch - victim of the plague. See also Herr Koch

Frau Zorin - Landlady of Felix's rooming house in the New Quarter.

Frederik Hasselhoffen - assassinated by Snikch

Fritz von Halstadt - Head of Nuln's secret police and a chief magistrate. A tall, gaunt man, Von Halstadt is a deadly swords man and obsessed with the Elector Countess he serves.

Gant - pockmarked sewerjack sergeant and veteran of 20 years service.

Gilda - the girlfriend Hef & Spider share.

Gustav Jaeger - Felix's father and a wealthy merchant

Hakim - see also Tarik. Assassins from Araby. Patrons of the Blind Pig.

Hans - Elissa's old boyfriend

Hef - see also Spider. One of two twin sewerjack knifemen who work with Gotrek & Felix.

Heinz - owner of the Blind Pig and old mercenary friend of Gotrek. He spent 10 years as a Halberdier and rose to the rank of Captain during Karl Franz's campaigns against orcs to the East. Sports a bad leg after being stamped on by a Bretonnian charger at the Battle of Red Orc Pass.

Helmut - bouncer at the Blind Pig

Helmut Slazenger - a noble. Reputed to be a Slaneesh cultist - at least according to the Secret police. A Victim of the false information being fed to von Halstadt by the Skaven.

Herr Gruenwald - Plague victim whose downfall was probably brought on by his dubious occupation - graverobber!

Herr Koch - victim of the plague. See also Frau Koch

Hieronymous Ostwald, Count - secretary to Her Serene Highness, Countess Emmanuelle. Friend of Drexler's.

Hungry Stephan - sourfaced Bretonnian mercenary and patron of the Blind Pig.

Jaegers - a family who lived in Cake Street. Felix finds a dossier on them in von Halstadt's files.

Josef Mann, Baron - patron of the Blind Pig.

Karl - Otto Jaeger's bodyguard. See also Franz.

Katka - another serving girl at the Blind Pig.

Leos - Countess Emmanuelle's brother. Reputedly a deadly blade and constantly defending slurs on his sister's name..

Lisabette - doxy who stays below Felix in his rooming house.

Lotte - former camp follower and Heinz's wife. Died of wasting sickness.

Murdo MacLaghlan - Burglar King. Claims to be an exiled prince of Albion when he is, in actual fact, one Heinrik Schmidt, born and bred in Nuln. Patron of the Blind Pig.

Nor Norrison - Bonded messenger to the Dwarf clans

Otto Jaeger - Felix's brother, runs the Nuln office of the family business

Rudi - A squat balding sewerjack.

Rupert - see also Dieter. A cropped haired giant with the scarred face of a student duelist. Felix has to 'deal' with him in the course of his job as Bouncer at the Blind Pig.

Schaffer - used to run the Nuln office for the Jaegers but vanished, thought to be at the hands of the secret Police.

Spider - see also Hef. One of two twin sewerjack knifemen.

Tarik - see also Hakim. Assassins from Araby. Patron's of the Blind Pig.





Blodge  - Part of Slitha's assault squad that attacked the Blind Pig

Boneripper I - Rat-ogre bodyguard to Thanquol, obtained from Clan Moulder.

Chang Squik - of Clan Eshan,  the assassins. Trained for years in the delivery of silent death. 3rd Degree adept in the way of the Crimson Talon and black belt in the Path of the Deadly Paw. Pupil of the infamous Snikch.

Clawleader Gazat - led the the first assassination attempt on Gotrek, Felix and the other sewerjacks in the sewers.

Deathmaster Snikch - Famous assassin and mentor of Chang Squik.

Heskit One Eye - Master Warp Engineer of Clan Skyre.

Hrishak - part of Slitha's assault squad.

Izak Grottle - Obese Clan Moulder Packmaster

Khijaw, Lord of Clan Gulcher - assassinated by Chang Squik for trying to plot the downfall of Throt the Unclean.

Klisqueek - part of Slitha's assault squad

Lurk Snitchtongue - Thanquol's obsequious Lackey.

Makrik, Warlord of Clan Gowjyer - slain by Gotrek in the battle of the Third Door.

Noi - Chang Squik's pupil.

Overseer Quee - part of the group sent to rob the College of Engineering

Queg. - Chang Squik's henchling.

Ruzlik - birthkin to Lurk Snitchtongue, serves Clan Moulder.

Seerlord Tisqueek - one of the Council of Thirteen who resides in Skavenblight.

Skitch - Izak Grottle's henchling. A hunchback who wears glasses, Skitch is reputed to be the best ratmaster of his day.

Skrequal - Von Halstadt's first skaven contact, brother of Tzarkual

Slitha - henchling of Chanq Squik and leader of one of the squads that attacked the Blind Pig.

Snikch - Chang Squik's assassin mentor. Also known as Deathmaster Snikch

Squiksquik - Heskit's henchling

Tzarkual Skab - Hostleader of two dozen finely trained Stormvermin and brother to Skrequal

Vermak Skab - Warlord of Clan Skab and Lurk's distant cousin. Sent to lead the attack on Nuln but tragically meets his end in a terrible accident involving a loaded crossbow and an exploding donkey!

Vilebroth Null - Low Abbot of the Plague Monks. Clan Pestilens

Verena - patron saint of Nuln aswell as Goddess of Learning and Justice

 

The Horned Rat - a Chaos God worshipped by the Skaven. The Lord of Decay.

 

Aldred - see also Trollslayer. Templar of the Fiery Heart. Was at a Sigmarite Seminary with Drexler.

Detlef Sierck - A famous playwright.

Johannes Voorman - author of Der Natur Malorum

Kleinmann - a famous painter

Krueger - a scholar quoted by Leiber in his book

Leiber - author of The Loathsome Ratmen and all their Vile Kin. His book mentions Clan Pestilens possibly being responsible for the Great Plague of 1111.

Schtutt - a scholar quoted by Leiber in his book

Van Hal - a scholar quoted by Leiber in his book

Vespasian - most famous Nulner painter of the past three centuries

 

Black Roses - only grown in the Gardens of Morr. It's a local custom in Nuln to pick and wear one if you are attending a ceremony there 

Black Ship, the - a grain barge cunningly painted black so it wouldn't be seen at night and filled with deadly experimental rats. Grottle was going to use it as an instrument of destruction on Nuln

Cauldron of a Thousand Poxes - a hideously powerful artefact for brewing diseases. Reputedly stolen from a temple of the Plague God, Nurgle and reconsecrated to the service of the Horned Rat.

Gardens of Morr - The Death God's Gardens were bodies are inhumed. A cemetery.

Oil of Swamptoad - oil used to repell the mutated rats.

Order of the Hammer - a Sigmarite Secret Order

The Loathsome Ratmen and all their Vile Kin - a book about Skaven by Leiber. Published by the Altdorf Press over 180 years ago.
